How did you deal with your cancer as a mom?

One of my girls’ favorite books “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” says it best: “you can’t go over it, you can’t go under it. You have to go through it.”

What gave you the most support (as a mom) during your treatment?

The parents at my daughter’s school organized a meal delivery 3 times a week throughout my treatment and recovery from surgery.

What does the word ‘cancer’ mean to you as a mom?

Cancer has allowed me to teach my girls about grit, perseverance, strength, hope and love in ways I couldn’t before going through breast cancer.

What does the word ‘cancer’ mean to you now?

Cancer is cruel and heartless. It doesn’t care how deeply you love, how hard you pray, how big you’ve dreamed, how detailed your plans.

What is one word to describe yourself today?

Hopeful
